Operating hours of the Archives and Reading Room
1) In-Person: Monday and Tuesday of each week, 9:00am to 5:00 pm. (Please tell Front Desk that you are interested in visiting Archives)
The Archives will not be open on these holidays: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Christmas Day
Reading Room: A public reading room is open throughout the year. In the reading room, patrons have access to many current automotive periodicals, reference books and rare historical volumes. Materials do not circulate. There is no fee to enter the reading room. It is included in the museum admission fee. Museum members enter the museum free of charge (Become a member today!)

About the Collection
The Archives of the Auburn Cord Duesenberg Museum contains historic written and printed materials, and photographs. Emphasis is on vintage photographs, owner’s manuals, parts lists, specification charts, books, trade and popular periodicals, videos, print advertisements, sales catalogs, electrical diagrams, service bulletins, body drawings, manufacturer histories, paint color descriptions.

The collection grows through donations and purchased acquisitions. The Auburn Cord Duesenberg Museum is a not-for-profit, educational institution: a private corporation not supported by tax dollars.

Services and Fees
Payment: The museum requires prepayment of all archives orders, either by VISA, MASTERCARD, check or money order. When total charges cannot be determined at the time research is requested, either a credit card number or deposit check must be received before research is begun. On orders where the total exceeds $40.00, patrons will be advised of the exact cost before charges are made.
1) Duplication of Materials
Reproductions of holdings in the collection are available for all materials that are not classified as restricted and are not too physically ungainly to be duplicated. Most requests for duplications can be fulfilled in seven (7) to ten (10) working days.
Telephone and mail requests for duplications are fulfilled via the U.S. postal service.
Printed materials are reproduced as digital photocopies, ranging from size 8 1/2” x 11” to size 24” x 36”. Vintage photographs are reproduced in black and white, glossy format in size 8” x 10” or a custom enlargement size.

2) New Photography
Photography of automobiles on display in the museum may be ordered. Exteriors, interiors and engine compartments will be photographed by the museum staff to your request. Exposed, unprocessed film will be supplied.
Fees: New photography of cars in museum exhibits = $25.00 per hour (one hour minimum - $7.00 for each roll of 24 exposure color film)

3) Do It Yourself Research at the Museum
Research may be done by patrons in the Reading Room, 9:00am to 5:00pm, Monday and Tuesday of each week; other days and times by appointment.
The holdings of the collection requested by the patron will be brought into the reading room by museum staff for examination and for duplication. The holdings do not circulate outside of the reading room.
Fees: Staff supervision, during regular archives hours = $15.00 per hour Staff supervision, during non-regular archives hours = $25.00 per hour

4) Research Done For You by Museum Staff
Research by the museum archivist of the topics covered in the collection, for patrons who are not able to visit the museum in person, is available at an hourly rate fee. Specific requests may be presented. Research by museum staff also encompasses the measuring of cars and components, the drawing of patterns from car parts, etc.
Requests for research may be made by telephone, fax, mail or in person. The museum provides the patron with a request form
Fees: Done For You = $35.00 per hour, (one hour minimum) There is no charge if no material is discovered about the topic in question.

5) Color Photographs for Publishers
Professional color photographs of restored vintage automobiles are available from the museum’s stock library to publishers (books, periodicals, video productions, calendars), for one time use, with museum credit required, as follows:

Photographs are provided in the form of 4 x 5 positive color transparencies, leased to the client by the museum, and must be returned to the museum immediately after use. The museum cannot guarantee fulfillment of color transparencies on the same day of a request. Most fulfillment’s can be made in seven (7) to ten (10) business days.
Fees: Commercial projects by for profit companies. Editorial use of one image = $190.00 Non profit organizations. editorial use of one image = $95.00

6) Color Photographs for Exhibitors
Professional color photographs of restored vintage automobiles are available from the museum’s stock library to exhibitors (offices and commercial buildings, restaurants, retail spaces, museums, schools, civic organizations) for display purposes only. Permission for publication rights is not included.
Photographs are provided in the form of 4 x 5 positive color transparencies.
The museum cannot guarantee fulfillment of color transparencies on the same day of a request. Most fulfillment’s can be made in seven (7) to ten (10) business days. Whenever possible and appropriate, a museum credit line is appreciated:
