 The DeKalb County Visitors Bureau invites you to experience DeKalb County, the epitome of small, rural, Midwestern towns with a rich history centered around its transportation heritage. DeKalb County is the home of multiple museums showcasing the history of automobiles, trucks, railroads, aircraft and military hardware. The Kruse Classic Car & Carriage Museum houses a variety of vehicles ranging from antique carriages to movie cars to race cars! The cars are on display in a 40,000 square foot display area.

NATMUS is a non-profit museum with emphasis on post World War II cars and trucks but with vehicles on display from 1908 "high wheelers" to current production pick ups.  Also you will find inside the doors of NATMUS a Model Car / Truck & Toy Museum (NATMATMUS).

The Garrett Historical Society Museum was once home to the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad freight station. The museum was restored to reflect an early railroad station.
